Many people daydream about traveling the world, but all of them have the same excuse - lack of money. Tomislav, after traveling the world for years with almost no money, shows how it is possible for everyone to do the same, if they really want to.
Tomislav Perko, 29, is a travel writer from Croatia. After a career of a stockbroker, broke because of the financial crisis, he hits the road and turns it into his home. He uses alternative ways of traveling – hitchhiking, couchsurfing, working/volunteering, and manages to wander around the world with just a little bit of money in his pocket, meeting the most amazing people on the way.
Five years later, he publishes a book “1000 Days of Spring” and goes around giving lectures about what it means to live on the road.

His research led to experiences with thousands of employees and entrepreneurs from 158 countries. Scott distilled the results down to his Passionate Work Framework - three surprisingly simple practices for finding and doing work you love, that all happen to be completely within our control. He makes his career tools available free to the public through his community at http://LiveYourLegend.net

We have medicine cabinets for common physical injuries like cuts and colds but no toolkits for common psychological injuries such as failure, rejection, guilt, and loss. In his inspirational talk, Guy Winch tells us that “you can’t treat a psychological wound if you don’t know you’re injured”. Guy teaches us a lesson on why it is so important to practice emotional hygiene.
Guy Winch Ph.D. is a psychologist, speaker, and author whose books have been translated into 15 languages. His most recent book, Emotional First Aid: Practical Strategies for Treating Failure, Rejection, Guilt, and Other Everyday Psychological Injuries (Hudson Street Press, 2013) examines the surprising ways in which seven common psychological injuries (Rejection, Loneliness, Loss, Guilt, Rumination, Failure, and bouts of Low Self-Esteem) impact our behavior, emotions, cognitive functioning, and physical health, and provides science-based treatments to heal the wounds they inflict.
In both his writing and his talks, Dr. Winch aims to bridge the gap between the science of psychology and its practice in the real world. He is passionate about translating current scientific findings into practical applications people can use to better their psychological health and their relationships. Dr. Winch is a member of the American Psychological Association. He lives and practices in New York City.

Can I do that here? | Deanna Rodger | TEDxStHelier
How is our reality constructed? Can we rewrite and reimagine this world? Deanna Rodger is a critically acclaimed poet. Her poems enable her to contextualise experience in a way that puts her in a position of power, a position of responsibility and choice. The 'I Can Do That Here’ Robert Dilts model demonstrates the impact an environment can have on an individual and the responsibility the individual has within their environment. We are in a time of mass propaganda and conditioning that unfortunately does not encourage every human-being to be proud of who they are or where and what they have come from. It is time we chose to realise our right to create and tell our stories from our perspectives and become aware of the responsibility we have to realise the ‘here’.
After becoming the youngest UK Poetry Slam Champion (2007/8) and completing vocational acting training in NYT’s REP Company 2012, Deanna has written and performed as a poet and actor in 2012 Olympic Team Welcome Ceremonies, Buckingham Palace, Speakers House, 10 Downing street and Honey Coated Dream and three TedX performances (Brighton, Southwark and EastEnd).
As a co-founder of two popular spoken word events Chill Pill and Come Rhyme With Me, resident artist at Roundhouse Camden, and member of prominent poetry collectives; Point Blank Poets (Biennale UK Artist International award 2011) and Keats House Poetry Forum, she is a huge force on the poetry scene.
As an actor she has featured in number of spoken word and music videos, short films and plays.

Carlos Cru\-Diez reflects on his career and on art as a medium for invention and communication.
Carlos Cruz-Diez is a visual artist. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, he has lived and worked in Paris since 1960. His artistic roots reach back to the Movimiento Cinético [Kinetic Movement] of the 1950s and 1960s. As his thinking on the visual arts has evolved, his ideas have changed attitudes on how color is perceived in art. He believes color is an autonomous reality, devoid of anecdotes, that evolves in real time and space with no need of form or support. Carlos’s artistic proposal is based on eight research projects that reveal the myriad ways in which color behaves: Couleur Additive [Additive Color], Physichromie, Induction Chromatique [Chromatic Induction], Chromointerférence, Transchromie, Chromosaturation, Chromoscope, and Couleur dans l’espace [Color in Space].

There is no effective education without independent students | Paulo Pereira | TEDxMRU
-
dr.Paulo Pereira is a member of global research networks and cooperates with scientists from all over the world. dr. Paulo loves research and teaching. He feels that there is no better job in life than create and share knowledge and ideas with others.
Since childhood he developed an extreme curiosity for natural sciences and passed great part of the time creating maps and drawings of rural landscapes. At the school he was never a top level student, however, developed a great persistence and work capacity above the average - those characteristics became priceless in the future.
In 2011, already living in Lithuania, dr.Paulo became associated professor of Mykolas Romeris University. Three years later he got the position of Full Professor and presently he is also the head of the Environmental Management Centre. In 2015 he was awarded with the prize of Outstanding Young Scientist from the Soil System Science Division from the European Geoscience Union.

Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how "power posing" -- standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don't feel confident -- can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

Scott Dinsmore's mission is to change the world by helping people find what excites them and build a career around the work only they are capable of doing. He is a career change strategist whose demoralizing experience at a Fortune 500 job launched his quest to understand why 80% of adults hate the work they do, and more importantly, to identify what the other 20% were doing differently.
